Norm Wood Environmental Centre WWTP Upgrade

Norm Wood Environmental Centre (NWEC) has been providing secondary treatment of domestic wastewater for the City of Campbell River since 1996. The new secondary wastewater treatment facility consists of two oxidation ditches, secondary clarifier, and other mechanical water retaining structures. The complete treatment process consists of mechanical screening, oxidation ditches, secondary clarifiers, aerobic digester, and biosolids storage basin. An odour control facility to treat headworks emissions is also provided.

Integral Engineering was the structural design team for sludge underground pump station No. 2, circular 28 m diameter x 7 m deep clarifier tank, mixed liquor weir chambers, effluent flow chamber, and other auxiliary structures.
